1) *** Add/Remove Smart Keyboard Software or Re-Install *** 

When the embed hot key software driver is installed, the Smart Keyboard Icon will be display on the system tray. If for some reason you want to re-install the software, you must first delete the driver from your operation system, right click the mouse button on Smart Keyboard Icon and then press EXIT item. After that you must go back to 'My Computer' under Control panel to Add/Remove Icon, to delete Smart Keyboard driver. It will be removed completely after the above steps. Then restart your system and re-install the software driver. 

Note:- If you want to upgrade or if your Smart Keyboard software doesn't work properly, you can re-install it, to fix this problem. 

2) *** Cannot Install other software application properly *** 

If you want to install another software application but can't install properly, you must remove the Smart Keyboard driver from your system memory by right clicking the Smart Keyboard icon then press EXIT item, then you can start installing another software application. After completing the new software installation, restart your system, the Smart Keyboard Icon will be displayed in the system tray again. 

3) *** "My Document" cannot be launched *** 

For some reason, the Smart Keyboard cannot launch "My Document", the problem may be because the Smart Keyboard driver is searching the wrong path. You must launch it by yourself. Use the "Attach Application to Button" step and on path, manually key in C:\W95\EXPLORER C:\MY DOCUMENTS or C:\WIN\EXPLORER C:\MY DOCUMENTS . The W95 or WIN means your Windows current path, where C is your hard drive.

4) *** Game can not be launched *** 

The game key is just for you to launch any game / application you desire, you must launch it by yourself, by selecting the game you wish to start with it. 

5) *** Onscreen display response too slow *** 

Your CD driver speed is too slow, we recommend you use higher than 8x CD drive, this can give you a better multimedia performance. 

6) *** Prev-track & next track key repeat rate can not match CD driver speed. *** 

If you press these buttons and do not release them, they will causes the CD player to continue to search Prev or next tracks until you release this key, but if your CD drive speed is too slow, releasing this key cannot immediately stop the continue search tracks function, you can adjust this key repeat rate to match the speed through configure the Smart Keyboard icon. We recommend use of a high performance CD drive. 

Be sure your system has a properly installed software and hardware for these functions before you attempt to use it.. 

8) *** Cannot play VCD title or MPEG file *** 

Be sure your software MPEG or hardware MPEG card has been installed properly. 

9) *** Calculation & X'fer problem *** 

Calculator would display in standard or scientific view and as simple, advanced scientific or statistical calculation in accessory application. When you press the "Calculate" key. The extra LED indicator will auto turn off, display calculator and enable Num. key pad feature for calculate. After each calculation press the X'fer key, then the calculator screen minimizes, turns on the extra LED indicator and the calculation value will be displayed in the last open application files at the cursor position. The minimized calculator screen clears, move the cursor to the next proper location the user desired. User can press calculate key again for the next calculation. 

Note 1: The Calculate & X'fer keys function are always active and when you finish calculation, you can use the Close key to close this function. 

Note 2: After you finish calculation, if you want to use the embed hot key function, you must repress the Ez key to turn on extra LED indicator. 

Note 3: If you do not want to use your keyboard numerical key to input, you also can use mouse pointer to click or the keyboard's other number keys, to input your calculation value. 

Note 4: If you don't know what is the function of any button on the calculator does, please right-click with the mouse on that button, it will display 'What's This?' in a bounding area. Then left-click or right-click the mouse again on this area, the detailed information will be shown/ displayed. 

Example:- 

Press ESC key on the keyboard or mouse click at C button on the Calculator can clear the current calculation. 

Press DEL key on the keyboard or mouse click at CE button on the calculator can clear the displayed number. 

Note 5: If you can not used num-pad to enter the calculation, please make sure the num lock indicator turn on. 

10) *** Close key problem *** 

This button is designed to automatically close a currently active window. Before you use the close key, you must make sure the application is active. If you not make sure, and press the close key you may close another application or window. Note: If you use the close key, you also must make sure the 3D hot keys image is not active and always on top, in this case you cannot use this hot key to close any application, you must first close the 3D image first by pressing the MENU/? key. 

Before entering the sleep status, the screen saver feature has to be first installed. To do this place the mouse pointer in a blank area of desktop and then right click on Properties, in the Display Properties, select the screen saver required, enable and/or password protect it. When the Zzz key is pressed ,the extra indicator will start to blink and the system will enter into the screen saving mode. If you press any other key, or move the mouse or click any of the mouse buttons, this action will release the screen saver to the application that was running when the system entered into the screen saving mode and the extra indicator will stop blinking.

Note 1: Because some mouse drivers and screen saver applications are not compatible. If you find that you cannot release your screen saver or stop the blinking of the extra indicator by either moving the mouse or clicking the mouse buttons, please re-press the Zzz key go to screen saver mode again and press any key on your keyboard to release the screen saver, this problem should be fixed. In this case when you want to release the screen saver, please press any key on the keyboard.

Note 2: If the system times out because of no activity, the system auto enters the screen saver mode, in this case the extra indicator will not blink, because the Smart Keyboard driver can only supports the pressing of the hot key to enter the screen saver mode.

12) *** Onscreen display cannot work properly *** 

If you have used some fonts other than English, please select the required Font otherwise the onscreen display can not work properly. 

13) *** System speed slows down or audio CD player auto starts *** 

As extra cards or hardware are added, drivers of software may conflict with Windows under complex communication to applications, operation may have abnormal action. It may cause the audio CD player to start playing automatically and slow down the system speed, in this case we suggest you click to shut down the audio CD player or always make sure that you do not leave an audio CD in CD drive when not in use .

14) *** The inbuilt microphone is not working. ***

Follow these check points to solve your problem, if you feel that the inbuilt microphone of your Internet Smart Keyboard does not seem to be working properly (i.e. when you try to record and you find that you are not able to record anything / or that no sound was recorded):-

i) First check that the special audio cable of your keyboard is plugged into the sound card of your system? If it wasn't, please do so and this should solve your problem.

ii) If this did not solve the problem, check that the audio cable is plugged into the correct socket on the sound card, i.e. it should be plugged into the socket normally marked as "Mic". Now check whether your sound recorder is recording your voice/ sounds

iii) If the above has been done correctly and still there is no sound being recorded, then double click on the volume icon on your system bar and check that, firstly the microphone is active( i.e. there should be no tick mark against the Mute box for the microphone settings). Secondly check that the volume control of the microphone is set at a high volume level.

iv) If your problem is still not solved after following the above mentioned points, check that the master volume is not set at mute, i.e. you should be able to hear your audio CD's playing, if you cannot hear them playing then single click on the speaker icon in the task bar/ system bar and check that the mute box for the master volume does not have a tick mark in it, also check that the volume setting of the master volume is set at a high volume. Do this and you should now have solved your microphone problem.

15) *** Help ! I cannot record for more than 1 minute at a time. ***

This happens because by default the Sound Recorder of Windows comes into play whenever you try to record using the record key from the multimedia section of your keyboard. Unfortunately the Window's sound recorder can record for one minute only. You can still record with your inbuilt microphone for more than one minute [in fact you can record for as long as you want depending on the type of sound format you selected (telephone, radio, CD quality) and the disk space available for recording on your hard disk !] by using the sound recorder that came with the software bundled along with your sound card.
