Set up your Internet Smart Keyboard

1)   The installation CD is an autorun type. Before inserting the CD, check that the
Auto insert notification feature is enabled on your system. Just insert the CD
into the CD-ROM drive and wait a few seconds for the auto-run program
on the CD to start, then enjoy the graphics / animation display and the music.
After the introduction finishes choose the "Installation" from the menu and
then sit back as the necessary driver will be installed. The system will have to
be re-booted for the driver to be installed and all system files updated. Once
installed the Smart Keyboard's blue & red Icon appears on the bottom right
    of task bar.

2)   In cases because of some possible memory constraints/conflicts the CD does
not autorun or starts running and then the systems hangs, please do not panic.
Instead try one of the following:-

  i)  Check that the CD is clean and free of dust or dirt. If not, please refer to next
section on CD-ROM care & maintenance.

ii) Switch the system off and then try again, if this works then your problem is
    solved, if not

iii) Switch the system off and insert the CD while keeping the 'Shift' key
depressed, this prevents the CD from auto running. Now through Windows
Explorer go to your CD-ROM drive ( 'C' or 'D 'as the case may be) and in the
root directory double click on the file " EZ.exe " the introduction will start, then
chose the "Installation" option from the menu to install the required driver.
Re-boot the system for the driver to fully install and all the system files to be
    updated.

iv) In case the system hangs when double clicking on the file "EZ.exe", once
again switch off the system, then re-boot, insert the CD into the CD-ROM
drive keeping the 'Shift' key depressed so as to prevent the CD from auto-
running. Click on the "Install" folder, and then on the file " Setup.exe ". The
driver will install, re-boot your system for all the system files to update and
your Smart Keyboard to be installed.

  v) If inspite of doing all the above the CD fails to install, it may be damaged,
please return it to us for a FREE replacement.

Customize the Smart Keyboard's Display

1)   On Screen Display:- Do you want to choose the colour of the Smart
Keyboard display on your screen, then this is how to go about it:-

  i) Right click on the Smart Keyboard's blue & red icon ( bottom right)
of the task bar, click on " Onscreen Display ", you can now select the
colour of the display on your screen and the type & size of the fonts.
You can use the colours from the palette or you can create your own
custom colours. The choice of the fonts depends on the fonts already
installed on your system, the more you have the larger choice!

ii) If you find the display distracting while working in some programs, you can
always right click on the Smart Keyboard icon and and from the "OnScreen
Display" choose "Disable". This will only suppress the display, but the Smart
Keyboards functions will remain active in the background.

iii) The Internet functions can turned off or on as the user requires. To do this
right click on the Smart Keyboard Icon, from the pop-up menu you can
choose to either disable the internet functions if already enabled or enable
the internet already functions if disabled.

Maintaining your Compact Discs (CD's)

1)   If you take care of your CD's you are indirectly taking care of your CD-ROM
drive, by reducing the risk of dust or dirt entering your CD-ROM drive.

  i)  When handling a disc please make sure that your hands are clean, even though
we may think that our are hands are clean, there is always normally a thin film of
natural oil on our fingertips, so avoid touching the data surface of the disc. The
disc should be only handled by its outer edge or by placing the index finger in
the inner hole of the disc.

ii) If despite these precautions the disc needs to be cleaned, always use a dry
clean, and soft lifter cloth to wipe clean the disc. Never ever use a circular
motion (i.e. parallel to the grooves / tracks) instead always wipe from the inner
hole towards the circumference of the disc at right angles to the groves / pits.

iii) In case the dirt mark / stain does not clean away with a dry cloth, only then try
cleaning with an alcohol based solvent, ensuring that the disc is completely dry
before putting it back into the CD-ROM drive

iv) If despite cleaning your disc you find that Windows Explorer is still not detecting
the CD, you will need to try cleaning the lens of your CD-ROM drive using a
    CD-ROM lens cleaning disc.

Cleaning/Maintenance of your Keyboard

1)   The best way in which you can maintain your keyboard in a clean and workable
condition is to avoid eating or drinking over your keyboard. This will go a long
way in preventing things falling / spilling into your keyboard.

  i) If you notice that your keyboard is dirty, try cleaning the marks/ stains with a
slightly damp cloth, take care to ensure that the cloth you use is merely damp
and not dripping with water. This should work, if not for stubborn dirt stains you
can use a cloth soaked in a mild detergent, in most cases this will get your
    keyboard clean & sparkling !

ii) In case you find that some your keyboard key/keys are getting sluggish or sticky,
the possible cause could be that some dirt has fallen into your keyboard. Your
keyboard being a membrane type is very easy to clean, Just unplug the keyboard
from your computer system and place a large piece of paper or a white piece of
cloth on the table, now turn your keyboard upside down over the paper/ cloth
and give it a sharp tap. Now watch the dirt fall out from your keyboard, we
asked you to place the white paper / cloth below simply so that you could see the
amount and type of fluff / dirt that sometimes get into your keyboard. Give it
sharp taps and keep doing this till you find that no more dirt falls out from the
keyboard. Now lightly wipe the keyboard on the outside and then re-plug it into
your computer system. There the work is done and you can get back to your
work with your keyboard functioning properly.
