The first activities of Fotona reach as far back as 1964, when a research and development laboratory was established in the framework of Iskra. Since then the firm has gained business success with the production of more than 10,000 laser systems. Today, Fotona employs almost 500 people, 100 of them actively involved in research and development. The company has approximately 25,000 m2 of premises in Ljubljana (Slovenia) including well equipped mechanical and optical workshops and a coating facility. The production assortment of Fotona d.d. covers a variety of opto-electronic devices from the field of defence technology, optical communications as well as lasers and laser devices for medicine and industry. Fotona pays much attention to the quality assurance of its products and services. Quality policy tries to satisfy the demands and wishes of our customer. The system of quality assurance complies with the requirements of ISO 9001.
