ADVICE TO THE TRAVELING PUBLIC ON ASPECTS OF
SAFETY, SECURITY AND LOSS PREVENTION
An indepth study undertaken reveals that most of the crime
against passengers are taking place due to lack of vigil /
ignorance on the part of the passengers. In this regard following tips/suggestions
may prove useful to passengers.
Do not
- Entrust your luggage to strangers.
- Accept eatables from co-passengers.
- Leave baggage uncared in the compartment and Platforms during
your absence.
- Carry excess luggage
- Carry huge cash during travel.
- Touch Unclaimed property.
- Seek information or any assistance from unknown or unauthorised
persons.
- Waste water
- Liter in the platform or in the compartment
- Carry explosive or inflamable material
- Jump the queue and encourage touts.
- Pay more than the exact fare or stipulated charges.
Do
- Purchase all eatable by yourself.
- Chain and lock your baggage with the wire provided underneath
the seats.
- Woman passengers should try to avoid sitting by the side of
window wearing Expensive jewells which is easily accessible to the chain snatchers.
- Woman passengers should avoid wearing Expensive jewels during
travel.
- Take care of your children during traveling.
- Be careful of your pocket while boarding and alighting train.
- Buy tickets directly from counters or approach authorised
travel agents.
- Beware of unauthorised persons selling tickets.
- Insist on a receipt for any payment made by you.
- Inform the authorities regarding any unauthorised persons on
Railway premises.
- Inform authorities about any difficulties experienced by you
while booking and taking delivery of your luggage.
- Use cloak rooms for depositing luggages.
- Take care while crossing unmanned level crossing gates
